Some Dates to Remember by Topic

Column changes can occur twice a year.
    October 1st and February 1st.
You must have all your paperwork in by one of these dates

Maternity Leave
    At least 2 weeks prior to date intended to leave
        You must write a letter stating your leave

Long Term Leave
    By April 15 of previous year
        You must write a letter stating your leave and return date

Career Change
    By March 15th prior to the date of leave
        You must write a letter stating your career change
    By April 15th of the year you leave you must write letter of return

New Co-curricluar Club/Activity Approval
By October 15th
You must have form signed by principal and sent to Human Resources by this date

Sabbatical Leave
By November 1st
        Letter written to Superindentent.

Insurance - Open Enrollment
Between October and November 1st

Sick Bank
    By October 1st of the year you become professional Status
        Write a letter stating you will give up 1 sick day for the sick bank

Evaluations - all dates are on or before given date
September 8

- Evaluator meet with educators in year 1

-Evaluator should complete first evaluative observation of each educator in Year 1 with written feedback to educator within 5 days of observation

January 7 - ONLY Non-Professional Status teachers (NPST) or Teachers on a one year
cycle
- Educator submits evidence on standards and/or progress toward goals*or 4 weeks prior to Formative Assessment Report date established by evaluator

January 30 - ONLY Non-Professional Status teachers (NPST) or Teachers on a  one year cycle
Evaluator should complete mid-cycle Formative Assessment Report

February 13 - ONLY Non-Professional Status teachers (NPST) or Teachers on a  one year cycle
-Evaluator holds Formative Assessment Meeting if requested by either evaluator or educator

April 16
-Educator submits evidence on standards and/or progress toward goals (only necessary in Year 2 if ratings on formative assessment ratings were P or E and there is no indication of a change in ratings for Year 2 evaluation) *or 4 weeks prior to Year 1 Formative or Year 2 Summative Evaluation Report date established by evaluator

May 1 - ONLY Non-Professional Status teachers (NPST) or Teachers on a  one year cycle
-Evaluator observes at least one full lesson with a written follow-up and conversation with educator

May 14
- Evaluator submits Year 2 Summative Evaluation Report and Meets with educators whose overall rating is NI or U *within 5 days the educator submits the signed evaluation document and may also submit a response

May 29
- Evaluator submits Year 1 Formative Evaluation Report and meets with educators whose overall rating is NI or U *within 5 days the educator submits the signed Evaluation Report and may also submit a written response
-Evaluator submits Year 2 Summative Evaluation Report to educators whose ratings are P or E.  A meeting may occur at the request of the evaluator or educator *within 5 days the educator submits the signed -Evaluation Report and may also submit a written response

Union Dues - All professional status Unit A teacher need to pay dues or agency fee.  All Unit B, G and E must pay right away
Monthly payments October - May or One lump sum by December 1st

Fingerprinting
Last names beginning with A- K should have already been fingerprinted
Last names L-P can get finger prints done from August 2015 - December 2015 and Last
names Q-Z can get finger prints from January 2016 through May 2016.  All teachers
need to be fingerprinted by May 2016.
